GICB - Application Support Analyst

Job Description:

The scope of this role is to provide second level support for a suite of applications in Banking and Portal team. Analyst will have opportunity to get exposure to new technologies including but not limited to Automation, Geneos, SQL, Shell scripting, Amazon Web Services, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides 24x7 First and Second level application support. Is first to react to monitor event. Assures problem calls are tracked, routed properly and closed. Coverage will include non-business hours, which may result in evening and weekend support remotely or onsite

  • Code deployments to production, pre-production systems

  • Monitoring and ensuring stability of all the systems to meet or exceed SLA

  • Assist Internal Client facing help desk to troubleshoot and resolve issues by engaging various operate teams and AD teams to facilitate quick resolution

  • Manage DR environments and regularly participate/organize DR testing

  • Manage upgrades to Apache servers and SSL certificate renewals

  • Follow appropriate change management procedures to manage and document changes to production systems

  • Maintain Production and DR system documentation on a regular basis

  • Weekend and out of hours work is occasionally required.

  • Failover implementation

  • Vendor Escalation

  • DB Process Monitor

  • Alert implementation

  • Infrastructure monitoring

  • Coordinate Infrastructure Management

  • Application Development Build Relationship

  • Batch Monitoring

  • Configure and Monitor and Maintain Cloud Based Applications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 + years of application support experience in an enterprise level environment

  • Application Support experience in UNIX and Windows environments

  • Apache Web Server, understanding of reverse proxy settings and virtual servers and SSL certificates

  • Solid Understanding of relational databases and working knowledge of SQL.

  • Basic Understanding of JMS technology

  • Basic Understanding of J2EE standards and applications

  • Solid Understanding TCP/IP net working and firewall and routing technologies

  • Problem Solving & Analytical Skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Responsiveness, Pro-activeness, with excellent communication skills

  • Team Player

  • Monitoring tools

  • Financial background/experience, Perl scripting is a plus

  • Basic Java or understanding or some high level language, MQ Series
