General Electric Accumulation Production Lead in Houston, Texas

Job Description Summary

We are looking for an Accumulation Lead to add to the Houston Service Center’s Gate 2 team. The scope of the role is the leading of Accumulation Technicians in the successful execution of receiving, accumulating, and distributing material to support production activities for the LM Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine Engines and reporting directly to the Accumulation Operations Leader. You will help oversee all transfers of parts and modules in supporting weekly engine output commitment and will be expected to perform and/or assign accumulation tasks as determined by daily requirements for the role. The right person will be highly organized, have a great attention to detail, and excellent communication and follow-up skills.

Job Description

Essential Du ties & Respo nsibilities :

  • Assist with pre-induction activities, responsible for the work scope, routing EFR’s and NSR’s, dispositioning parts, making recommendations, speaking with engineering, and customer facing.

  • Work as part of team to accomplish delivery goal for Engines and Modules

  • Accumulate and process parts to ensure configuration accuracy and engine on time delivery.

  • Troubleshoot accumulation related issues to include interaction with cross-functional teams.

  • Support accumulation activities and problem solving through advanced usage of Oracle, Shop Floor Management (SFM) and Smartsheet.

  • Coordinate, track parts and modules, credit returns and reallocations.

  • Collect data, run reports, and communicate status daily.

  • Ensure all employees are at their assigned workstation.

  • Meet daily with Operations Leader to plan for the next day and set team priorities.

  • Perform other related duties as requested by Operations Leader.

  • Train/lead new employees as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years of experience in a supply chain, warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard environment.

  • Prior leadership experience.

  • Computer skills (Oracle, SFM or another warehouse management system and MS Excel).

Desired Requirements :

  • GE Aero technical knowledge (i.e. tooling, fixtures, etc.)

  • Be able to read Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB), Work-scope, and Service Bulletins.

  • Ability to understand, follow and lead work scope instructions

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills in English.

  • Self-starter, positive attitude, work well with others, and strive to implement continuous improvement projects.

  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.

  • The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and focused on safety.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma Training.
