Abbott FP&A Analyst in Hong Kong, China

Job Summary

  1. Report to APAC Finance Manager and work with HK & TW Commercial Team to deliver financial commitments to Corporate.

  2. Work with other Support Functions (e.g., Supply Chain, Shared Services Organization) to ensure smooth operations and compliance with Abbott policies.

  3. Facilitate on Asia Pacific and Global initiated Gross Margin improvement and ad hoc projects.

  4. Provides information and cost improvement ideas to management and APAC Regional team.

  5. Provide support to ensure policy and SOP compliance.

Job Responsibilities

Monitoring of Financial Deliverables

  1. Work with APAC Finance Manager, the commercial team, and other functions (e.g., supply chain, finance shared services) to facilitate the delivery of revenue, margin, and net income commitments for each month.

  2. help to monitor and optimize operating expenses against Plan/Forecasts for HK & TW.

  3. Participate in inventory S&OP meeting and review and short UBD inventory to facilitate to minimize the scrap cost for HK & TW.

  4. Provide support to APAC Finance Manager on APAC Gross Margin Improvement Projects.

Financial Planning and Analysis and Reporting

  1. Provide support in Sales and Division margin estimations for HK & TW

  2. Prepare monthly analysis reports and profit and loss statements before and after close for monthly review with Country Business Managers and APHQ team.

  3. Manage the month end close process, revenue reconciliation and expense accruals and provisions for HK & TW. Work with accounting shared service team to ensure month end closing is done timely and accurately.

  4. Participate quarterly forecasts process, prepare financial planning and analysis and finance related operational matters for HK & TW.

  5. Assist business units with consolidation / analysis of the market intelligence information, including market share.

  6. Liaison person with APAC Regional team and other functions and divisions (where applicable).

  7. Preparation of management / financial reports as requested.

Distributor, Tender and Accounts Receivable Management

  1. Manage the distributor agreement and documentations.

  2. Consolidate, analyze, and track inventory movements (purchase and usage) for key distributors.

  3. Provide support in tender pricing analysis and supporting documentation.

  4. Work with Business Units and shared service team in accounts receivable related and provide supports as requested.

Compliance

  1. Perform revenue recognition and analysis and make adjustments to ensure compliance with GAAP and Abbott policies.

  2. Support Capital Expenditure Request (CEA) process.

  3. Assist Healthcare Professionals Sponsorships process as requested.

  4. Proactively provide ideas to develop, implement and monitor operational policies and procedures for Taiwan and Hong Kong to ensure compliance with corporate policies.

  5. Facilitate and provide information for internal and E&Y audits and assist in remediations when needed.

Others

  1. Recommend, develop and implement improvements and standards (efficiency, accuracy, simplification) to the reporting and analysis processes.

  2. Continually review and improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

  3. Other ad hoc projects/assignments as required.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Handle and process customer complaints in timely manner and according to Abbott Medical Asia’s and Abbott Medical country’s policy and requirement

  2. Execute the job responsibilities according to applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott Medical

  3. Ensure applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott Medical are executed

Requirements: Education and Experience

  1. Graduate in Finance/Accounting with professional qualifications (e.g., CPA) is preferred.

  2. 3-5 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Reporting, Planning.

  3. Experience in relevant medical device and/or healthcare industry is highly preferred.
