Job Description

PURPOSE: The SFC employee participates in any improvement that is necessary to achieve customer satisfaction. Total commitment to SFC’s Quality Management System is a part of every employee’s responsibility in order to achieve and exceed SFC’s Quality Objectives. This position keeps the flow going by supplying the looms, or area with material; and moving material as needed with various lifting devices.


  1. Stage, when applicable, load, and post in SAP customer shipments.

  2. Transfer the applicable greige rolls physically and in SAP from the weave room to the appropriate storage location.

  3. Load, unload, and coordinate the content of the trucks going back and forth from SFC-Hogansville to SFC-Porterdale and SYC.

  4. Unload raw material and purchased fabric deliveries and process them in SAP.

  5. Unload deliveries made at Plant 2.

  6. Initiate freight claims.

  7. Transport raw material yarn to twisting and weaving as needed and issue it out of SAP inventory.

  8. Load recyclable shipments.

  9. Load waste shipments.

  10. Unload customer returns and process them in SAP.

  11. Clean warehouses and docks.

  12. Store and protect raw material yarn, greige rolls, and finished goods properly. Chock double stacked rolls.

  13. Notify the shipping and receiving warehouse team leader of issues with forklifts and scan guns immediately.

  14. Complete the Daily Forklift Check List (Ref. HV179) at the beginning of shift.

  15. Comply with safety / PPE requirements by wearing steel toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, etc. in designated areas. Chock all trucks / trailers at the dock before entering.

  16. Assist with physical inventory / cycle counts of raw material yarn, greige rolls, and finished goods, etc. as requested.

  17. Report safety issues and any other situation that interrupts the normal daily operations to the shipping and receiving warehouse team leader and / or management immediately.

  18. Complete special projects as requested or any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions.

Must be able to do basic math and read

Lift, move and position materials, use tools, equipment, etc. quickly and effectively.

Knowledge of good shop practices.

Operate lift trucks and other material moving equipment.

Must possess a valid lift truck operator license.
