VMware Manager, Commissions Finance in Heredia, Costa Rica

The Commissions Finance Team is the key connecting point between Finance, Sales Operations, Global Incentives, and Field Sales teams. We are professionals with advanced analytical skills, extensive understanding of the sales compensation cycle, very detail-oriented individuals, and experienced communicators. The Commissions Finance Team has worldwide responsibilities for managing the commissions plans and resulting earnings that get submitted to Payroll, administering the deployment of compensation plans to the Sales Field as well as consulting with the System Administration Team on the setup of the appropriate compensation framework.

The Manager will own the end-to-end commissions process for assigned Sales Regions closely partnering with Sales Operations & Sales Finance leaders, and cross functional engagement with the other Commissions Finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in the payment calculation and execution of the Commission Plan. The right individual for this role is a commissions passionate working towards operational excellence, with technical mindset, great attention to detail, advanced business partnering & presentation skills and proven ability to work with large data set in a fast-paced environment while helping other members of the team attain the same goals.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a group of Commissions Finance Analysts, respond to their questions, provide training on new or existing compensation subjects, and address specific concerns as reported via our Case Management Tool, sharing the business acumen and expertise with the team to strengthen the awareness and understanding of the different sales compensation models.

  • Partner with different levels of stakeholders to achieve process improvement, adopt best practices and anticipate needs to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Serve as point of contact to assist Sales Operations, the Planning Team, and Shared Services in fielding process-related questions and general queries to establish a uniform and clear understanding of the compensation policy.

  • Responsible for the accuracy and deadline-based deliverables related to plan deployment & redeployment, as well as payroll submission. Assist in consolidating the final review and submission files for Payroll to address any potential concerns that could arise during the management signoff process.

  • Own all Senior Sales Leadership sales compensation administrative responsibilities and associated communication.

  • Drive administration and implementation of mechanisms to improve process efficiency and ensure audit compliance. Must become extremely knowledgeable of the different SOX controls, VMware, Inc. Sales Compensation Plan Terms & Conditions (T&Cs), and the worldwide compensation plan design (Comp Deck).

  • Participate in the integration of compensation processes related to mergers and acquisitions by collaborating with the Commissions Finance Operations Team.

  • Own User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating the distribution of the test cases and the follow-through for completion by all the Commissions Finance Analysts.

  • Own and maintain the same end-to-end tasks and responsibilities as those for the Sr. Commissions Finance Analysts to ensure sufficient support to the Sales Team.

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent related work experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on commissions processing experience; Commissions management experience is a plus.

  • Excellent team player with strong problem solving, organization, and process management skills.

  • Self-starter with drive, passion, and will to succeed by leveraging analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Possessing great communication skills is crucial.

  • Active learner open to honest and constructive feedback as well as ongoing coaching.

  • Works collaboratively within a strong team environment.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.

  • Callidus/SAPC hands-on experience is a plus.
