Touro College Logistics Specialist in Henderson, Nevada

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for performing various receiving, asset management and shipping operational functions. The specialist is responsible for receiving, shipping, storage, and distributing a variety of materials and equipment for the campus. The specialist is responsible for assisting in asset management operations to include asset and consumable order management and reporting. The specialist is responsible for assisting in the processing of inbound and outbound mailings for the university.

  1. The Logistic Specialist is responsible for the following receiving related operations:

1.1. Receives and unload product deliveries from carriers.

1.2. Verify, inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments, works with vendor and purchasing individual to correct any discrepancies in shipments.

1.3. Records incoming shipments through the purchase order process within the Touro One Buy software.

1.4. Accurately and efficiently upload all receiving documents into the Touro One Buy software; to include all paperwork related to vendor and campus communication for shipment discrepancies and returns.

1.5. Communicates and coordinates with the warehouse manager and purchasing individual for returns.

1.6. Delivers products to appropriate personnel or department.

1.7. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with staff and faculty.

1.8. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  1. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the following asset management related operations:

2.1. Enter inbound purchase order shipments into the inventory software for asset or consumable inventory, as applicable.

2.2. Assist in the asset check-in/check-out process of items within the inventory software.

2.3. Assist in fulfilling consumable item requests from the inventory software for applicable campus personnel.

2.4. Deliver and/or pick up asset management shipments to designated campus personnel and/or department in Touro’s various delivery vehicles.

2.5. Assist campus personnel with questions, requests, and issue resolution in a courteous and timely manner.

2.6. Run reports for various warehouse or campus management, as requested.

2.7. Perform periodic inventories of asset management, as instructed.

  1. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for mailroom related operations as requested.

  2. General

4.1. Maintain warehouse security by ensuring all open entrances and/or exits are not left unattended.

4.2. Maintain a clean and safe warehouse, to include, but not limited to sweeping, organizing materials, and rearranging warehouse items.

4.3. Maintain delivery vehicle to include, but not limited to ensuring vehicle is operational, clean, and maintained for daily usage.

4.4. Participates within campus safety and security protocols as directed.

4.5. Will perform other duties and functions as directed.


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required


  • Two years of warehouse receiving experience

  • Some maintenance experience preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Possession of a valid Nevada driver’s license

  • Clean driving record for three (3) years

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability and clearance to drive company vehicles

  • Ability to drive box trucks up to 26’

  • Ability to work varied shifts

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of personnel

  • Ability to use hand tools, climb ladders up to 20 ft. and feel comfortable with heights

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

  • Proficiency in the following software programs:

  • Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
