Job Description: -The Continuous Improvement Lead/Industrial Engineer role is responsible for evaluating processes and configuring manufacturing systems to improve operating capability and sustainability while maintaining all applicable safety and reliability standards. Supporting the manufacturing operations team in the planning, coordinating, and leading projects in relation to develop best practices within the production process. Research and propose improved processes, new equipment or equipment modifications. This role is responsible for the administration and oversight of continuous improvement activities and driving safety and operational excellence throughout all areas of the organization by leading, facilitate, and mentor associates in continuous improvement activities. Utilizing continuous improvement tools to identify opportunities, driving to root cause, and systematically improving operations. This position also assumes responsibility and leads our Environmental, Health, and Safety program. Job Responsibilities: -Work closely with production and support personnel to develop and optimize process settings and document detailed instructions/training aids for processes as Standard Operating procedures (SOP). -Utilize engineering principles and data analysis to reduce variation in manufacturing processes, thereby improving operating safety and efficiency in various parameters – proper production rates, yields, downtime, cost, etc. -Establish and support a CI culture, identifying opportunities teach and utilize lean tools and principles to improve yields, downtime, safety, & cost -Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement -Evaluate data to implement technological improvements in production processes, develops and implements innovative solutions; research and recommend new manufacturing technology. -Implement and maintain 5s throughout the plant. -Manage productivity calculations for daily/monthly reports -Collaborate with engineering and production on new product development and tracking in support of 1st run and critical orders through their operations. -Champion EHS culture at the site, providing training and support. -Responsible to establish and monitor JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for all equipment in facility. -Establish tracking and act based on EHS specific metrics and results. -Lead and support safety incident response and investigation MUST HAVES: -Bachelors degree in Engineering -5 years of experience working in a manufacturing/industrial engineering environment -Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous improvement -Working knowledge of manufacturing process associated with the machining of metal -Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles, concepts, methodology & tools such as: 5S, VSM, and Kaizen -Experience with an ERP system -Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment PLUS HAVES: -Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
