Mercury Systems Technical Writer in Gulf Breeze, Florida

In this role, you have the opportunity to Describe in one impactful sentence the bigger purpose that this role contributes to in our company. You are responsible for * Develop, write/rewrite, and/or edit technical documents, such as technical procedure, requirements documents, technical description document and manuals. * Work with Subject Matter Experts, product developers, and users, if needed, for document content. * Provide updates on completions and progress, as well as review and confer with the team for task assignment, feedback, and direction, implementing revisions as required. Position Requirements: * Knowledge of government CDRL and SDRL document structures. * Knowledge of government Data Item Description documents (DID) * Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written. * Sound judgment and the ability to make good editing decisions; ability to work independently. * Ability to use Microsoft Office products proficiently, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Purpose: This position is for a seasoned professional individual contributor in the Technical Writing sub-family, who works independently with limited supervision. Responsibility Statement: Develop hardware and software documentation in the planning, development, and on-time delivery of customer-focused release documentation. Drive the documentation process by proactively seeking out information and technical resources and bringing outstanding issues to closure that the documentation process can move forward. Independently develop and monitor progress against risk mitigation and contingency plans. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively and efficiently, balancing priorities and allocating time across parallel writing efforts. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Translate program requirements into documentation requirements and plans from engineering specifications. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
