Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

As key member of the One ITW Hartness Finance Team, the Financial Reporting Analyst is a key role that is responsible for the financial reporting processes. This team member will take the lead in coordinating and collaborating with colleagues across functional areas to complete month-end responsibilities. This role is required to meet local and Corporate financial reporting requirements, assuring that financial records and systems comply with GAAP and ITW Financial policies, preparing financial outlooks, explaining variances and supporting long-range and annual plan while also leading efforts to simplify and improve the processes through the use of the ITW Toolbox.

The position will be based at our headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Divisional financial information in compliance with ITW policies and GAAP.

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes which includes reviewing, processing, posting journal entries, investigate income statement variances, and complete a balance sheet review prior to submission.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of Divisional outlook to Division Leadership and Corporate.

  • Assist in the preparation of long range and annual financial plans.

  • Report and review plan vs. actual department expenses monthly and assist in defining underlying causes where material variances are found.

  • Responsible for Annual Internal Audit Questionnaire and Audit preparation.

  • Responsible for local tax and Census filings

  • Build cross-department credibility, confidence, and collaboration with other functional areas.

  • Lead simplification projects and process improvements in line with the 80/20 philosophy to continuously analyze processes and identify actions to reduce complexity.

  • Assist with special projects and additional accounting functions as needed

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, a CPA, or MBA a plus

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees/management and ability to read situations and apply diplomacy and tact in communications needed to perform duties

  • Strong communication, customer service, follow up and research skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Positive attitude and team player mentality

  • Demonstrated initiative, flexible self-starter that adapts well to change

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn new software quickly

  • Knowledge of GAAP

  • Microsoft D365 F&O experience a plus
