The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of engineers for all manufacturing engineering activities in the assembly lines at the ZF Transmissions plant in Gray Court, SC. Work integrally with multiple departments to analyze process problems and troubleshoot assembly equipment. Select, implement, and optimize equipment in the facility. Direct and develop technical staff reporting to him/her.
Lead a group of engineers of different levels in the day to day activities
Coordinate, assign and manage team projects and activities
Interview, select, train and develop employees
Manage multiple departmental projects simultaneously.
Continuously improve and upgrade equipment and processes
Leads communication between multiple departments and management levels
Oversees the plan for work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with manufacturing engineers and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Oversees the development of product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, fixturing or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.
Analyze production times, staffing requirements and related costs of production equipment to provide information for management decisions.
Organize teams to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential to ensure that the quality of the product produced meets all customer requirements.
Leads projects for existing production and new programs using APQP and Lean principles to meet timing and budget as well as performance.
Supports and ensures compliance with established Company’s Corporate Principles.
Other duties as it relates to this position.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 8 years of Engineering experience
Minimum 4 years of production problem solving experience in automotive environment
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Hands-on experience is a must
Strong problem solving and analytical skill
Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner
Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Demonstrated successful project management experience and problem-solving skills
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and CAD software
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize day-to-day responsibilities
Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
