Job Summary

Senior Nutrition Service Technician

Staus: Part-time 24 hours weekly

Days worked: Monday - Friday

Every other weekend required.

Shift Range: 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Blodgett Hosptial

Offering $16 to start.

This position is benefit eligible and qualifies for our starting bonus of $1,000 paid out:

1st payment of $250 distributed at 30 days.

2nd payment of $750 distributed at 90 days.

Maintains shift accountability for the provision of Nutrition Services in a cost effective/efficient manner. Monitors the delivery of high quality food and nutritional services to Spectrum Health patients, employees and visitors. May make decisions of a non-routine nature to provide solutions for persistent departmental concerns.

Essential Functions

  • Teaches and maintains correct sanitation and personal hygiene procedures throughout assigned areas, e.g., following proper dress code. Completes assigned quality assurance monitors.

  • Applies reasonable judgment to the interpretation of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Oversees day-end cash out and daily deposits. Makes cash register program changes, when applicable.

  • Ensures proper preparation and services meals. Ensures proper storage of food items as required, labeling and dating items per standard.

  • Responsible for the training of new staff.

  • May lead new hire department orientation or perform other technical tasks within the designated area of responsibility.


  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred Associate's Degree Hospitality or Nutrition

  • 6 months of relevant experience food service, preferably in health care setting or related field Required

  • 6 months of relevant experience Leadership Preferred

  • CRT-ServSafe Manager - NRA National Restaurant Association 90 Days required

  • CRT-ServSafe Allergen - NRA National Restaurant Association 90 Days required
