In this role, the Nurse Manager, LPN will:

  • Supervise assisted living nursing staff. Ensure quality of care by making rounds to determine effectiveness of care, resident satisfaction, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Manage the overall functioning of the building for assisted living staff.

  • Provide explanation of nursing policies and procedures and assistance to staff to ensure ongoing understanding and training.

  • With Director of Assisted Living, initiate evaluation, discipline, and motivation of staff.

  • Communicate on regular basis with Director of Nursing and/or administration regarding observations and suggestions of problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, etc.

  • Initiate and reevaluate plan of care with residents, families, and staff to ensure needs of residents are met. Complete care conference with resident and families to communicate any changes in care and cost.

  • Handle special projects as assigned by ALD.

  • Assist in orientation of new nursing personnel and oversee training standards to maintain high quality of care.

  • Complete audits on resident charts to ensure accuracy and compliance standards are met.

  • Assure the functional and sanitary maintenance of the nursing units and equipment. Report routine and emergency maintenance needs according to established procedures.

  • Manage Infection Prevention and Control program in assisted living. Oversee COVID protocols for assisted living as determined by local, state and federal authorities.

  • Assure the safety and security of patients through the proper use of equipment, safety devices, and by knowing and following fire, safety and disaster procedures.

  • Provide reports of trends to regional and head office on monthly basis. Coordinate improvement plans as needed and assigned by head office team.

  • Communicate with other department supervisors, physicians, consultants, staff, residents, and families to coordinate care of residents.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing, the staff LPN.

  • Must be currently licensed as an LPN or RN in the State.

  • 2 years nursing experience.

  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
