<p>The Storefront Platforms team builds and supports platforms which collectively refer to the foundational services, technologies, frameworks, libraries, tools and design assets that support application development.</p>

<p>We support organizations outside of Storefront that have a direct impact on the customer experience, as well as user-focused platforms, including the UI platform for all of our web applications. Our team is composed of the following nine groups: Performance Engineering, Login &amp; Authentication, Dynamic Page Architecture, Promotional Tooling, Frontend Platforms, Backend Platforms, Homebase, Content Strategy and UX Research.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Storefront Backend Platform team is responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the core infrastructure and architecture that Storefront teams use to develop and deploy backend services. These services, and consequently the platform, are responsible for serving an industry leading eCommerce application that contributed to Wayfair generating over $14 billion in revenue in 2020.</span></p>

<h3><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h3>


<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will guide the team in building an application platform for all Storefront engineers.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will own the mission, vision, plan, and delivery of the backend service platform.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">We work together with engineering leads on other teams to solve issues, and take advantage of opportunities, discovered when moving to a microservice architecture.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">We translate features and architecture built in a monolithic environments into sustainable solutions in a decoupled services state.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">We work cross functionally (across departments) to hash out problems and build solutions at application and infrastructure boundaries.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will explore new solutions and test hypotheses through experimentation and proof of concepts.</span></li>


<h3><strong>What You'll Need</strong></h3>


<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">7+ years as a software or infrastructure engineer</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some experience with cloud based infrastructure and basic devOps</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience developing and designing scalable distributed systems</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with enterprise software design patterns and practices</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Familiar with HTTP, TCP, SSL, request routing and other networking concepts</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience leading software or infrastructure engineering teams</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hands-on experience with any compiled software language</span></li>
