The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants & Distribution Centers where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics.
As an environmental, health and safety coordinator, you will:
Support site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives that establish a positive safety culture.
Be viewed by peers as a safety champion.
Ensure partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
Maintain site’s EHS inspection and auditing processes.
Schedule, track, and maintain EHS training programs.
Assist the EHS manager in analyzing data and trends to proactively predict and prevent injuries.
Actively support critical aspects of EHS management system that elevates partners and encourages engagement.
Prepare, communicate and educate client groups and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
Proofread, format and edit functionally specific materials according to company standards.
Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate safety program expectations and applicable federal and state laws. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
Assist in facilitating the incident investigation process.
Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics reporting to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.
Demonstrate and understand safety as a core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coach others to do the same.
Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitor and document quality measures using analytical tools.
Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

We’d love to hear from people with:
High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
College or technical education preferred
Manufacturing or distribution environment (2-3 years)
Project related support (2 years)
Experience with OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910 (1 year)
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365 etc)
Must be able to work independently
Must have effective facilitation/presentation skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of World Class Performance principles and methodologies
Ability to work with a diverse team environment
Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures
Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs
Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF)
