Description
Are you an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy? Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant at a rapidly-growing organization in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Mgt industry that you should check out! Based in the Monmouth County, New Jersey region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
How you will make an impact
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of FASB
Solid understanding of Fixed Asset Accounting
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Skilled with ERP systems
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
