JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary: Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility and also lays out, fits, and welds stainless steel and fabricated components for final assembly of food and dairy equipment. This position will demonstrate a high level of proficiency in performing all activities associated with installing, repairing and maintaining custom equipment. Expectations: 1. You will be dedicated to road work and, therefore, must be available for short notice and weekend road jobs 2. This position requires the ability to work extended hours and off hours (i.e. 2nd shift hours, irregular start times) 3. Domestic and international travel will be required 4. Must agree to periodic criminal and driving records checks 5. Must be able to be certified in different welding techniques 6. Must possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills 7. Employees must be extremely safety conscious and assess each work situation for the safest way to proceed 8. Strong communication skills are important because you will be communicating with our customers in different situations 9. Ability to learn AutoCad and SolidWorks so that you can open and review prints Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Installs new or modified equipment according to customer's specifications. Choose the appropriate installation process to include rigging, hoists, cranes, forklifts, etc., taking into consideration employee safety. Troubleshoot areas of concern during the installation process. Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment. Reviews reports and documentation from customers and inspects malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine nature and scope of problem. Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action. Coordinates problem resolution with engineering to expedite repairs. Provides a communication link between the customer and MSI to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer. Selects equipment and plans layout for welding and assembly for each project. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together to blueprint specifications. Secures and welds parts on equipment with attention to warpage and metal fatigue. Inspects final part for squareness and flatness. Straighten as needed using heat, press, clamps or other methods. Assembles parts per assembly drawings and/or engineering instructions. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and rewelding per instructions or blueprint drawings.
