Northern Arizona Healthcare Buyer-Supply Chain Management in Flagstaff, Arizona
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. As an authority develops in-depth knowledge of NAH purchased products and supply chain domains. S/he is data-driven and process-oriented and evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
Responsible for purchasing: determines volumes, cash allocations, consigned vs. bought decisions, proactively works with contract renewals.
Works with contracts, GPO, vendors, and internal stakeholders to drive down the cost of the procedure. Manages transitions of products.
Drives SCM and NAH strategy: standardize between facilities, better outcomes at lower costs.
Acts as and continuously develops as a product category expert: knows alternative products, can influence nursing and physicians, can actively negotiate prices.
Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Maintains familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
