RHD's Cumberland County Bridge Housing Program (CCBH) is looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our Team!
***20 hours weekly. Flexible Schedule!!***The mission of Resources for Human Development (RHD) is to provide caring, effective and innovative services that empower people of all abilities as they build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. RHD's multi-faceted programs serve people with a variety of challenges that include intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness.
How You Can Make a Real Impact:
The DSP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates daily living programs and routines for individuals we serve. The DSP conducts all program operations in accordance with RHD policy and the regulatory requirements of the NC DHHS. The DSP is responsible for ensuring the individual's health and safety is protected and that each individual participates to their fullest ability in activities of daily living. A large part of the responsibilities will be on preparation training of program participants for independent living; including training them on maintaining the cleanliness of their apartment. The CCBH Direct Support Professional reports to the Site Supervisor and/or Assistant Program Director.

Responsibilities/Duties
Assist and support consumers in obtaining and maintaining life skills
Symptom management for and with consumers
Maintain cleanliness of the home
Report facility concerns to Supervisor
Provide and teach medication administration to residents
Planning and preparing meals
Assist consumers with working towards person centered treatment goals
Complete required program documentation
Provide therapeutic mentoring and symptom monitoring and management
Required Experience
1 year in human services field
Required Education
High School Diploma/GED required
Required Qualifications
Valid Driver's license required
Must pass criminal background check
Program Summary
RHD is partnering with Cumberland County, Alliance Health, Cape Fear Valley Behavioral Health Care, and other community stakeholders to bring a new Bridge Housing Program to Cumberland County. The program is designed to serve county residents who are homeless or unsheltered and have mental health barriers. Participants will stay a maximum of 5-6 months while they obtain the skills and resources necessary to secure long-term permanent housing in the community of their choice. RHD Staff will provide case management, ADL education, and advocacy support to help each participant achieve their personal goals and secure stable, permanent housing. This program will operate according to the 'Housing First' model with a strong emphasis on the Social Determinants of Health.
