A member of the department team. Works in partnership with the Director of Spiritual Care to further department educational plan. Conducts programs of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) for the Level I and Level II. The CE supervises Level 1 and Level II CPE within a residency year and the potential of single units. Collaborates with Department Director, CPE Program Director and the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences leadership structure (Rochester only), and staff preceptors/clinical mentors in matters affecting CPE intern and resident educational program. Maintains an integral relationship with ACPE as an association member. Prepare and maintain records/portfolio/etc. for CPE program. Records and oversees CPE student documentation of patient care encounters within the Electronic Medical Record.
Works cooperatively with other members of the Spiritual Care Department in planning and providing a total program of spiritual care. Provides for the spiritual needs of patients, families, and Mayo Clinic employees. Participates in a team ministry with other members of the department for unit and on-call coverage. Assists in sacramental ministry as appropriate. Serves on committees/task forces within department and hospital, and/or enterprise. Provides direction, support, and participates in educational program development and training for the department. Assists in orienting new personnel to Spiritual Care. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
Masters theological degree or Masters of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary (or its equivalent in the endorsing body).
Ordination and/or endorsement for service as a Chaplain by appropriate faith community.
Certification as an ACPE Certified Educator, ACPE Associate Certified Educator, or ACPE Certified Educator Candidate by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). An ACPE Associate Certified Educator or ACPE Certified Educator Candidate must achieve ACPE Certified Educator status within 3 years of employment.
Preferred Experience:1 year of hospital chaplain experience. Certification and/or specialization in areas such as trauma, palliative, grief, leadership, ethics, research, etc. related to the provision of spiritual care/education.
License or certification
Endorsement for service as a Chaplain by appropriate faith community.
Certification or certification-eligible with one or more of the following: Association of Professional Chaplains(APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains/United States Catholic Conference of Bishops(NACC/USCCB), the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education(ACPE), or the Association of Jewish Chaplains(AJC).
For position requiring travel for work, an unrestricted, unexpired Driver's license is required.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2068.00, based on a full-time position.
