Covance Mgr Finance in Durham, North Carolina

Covance is seeking a Manager, Finance to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Team management

  • First Point of contact for business and operations as it relates to invoicing and revenue recognition

  • Collaborate with departmental managers to review and confirm revenue and billing.

  • Implementing new commercial polies for billing and revenue recognition

  • Conduct investigation and reconciliation of revenue and billing to identify key drivers of variance and drive resolution of differences.

  • Coordinate with other areas of business to drive process improvements and streamline procedures

  • Prepare monthly reports and analysis for management, as assigned.

  • Assist with the completion of work requirements for all external, internal, and special audits.

  • Review and approval of balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Education / Qualifications:

  • BS / BA in Accounting or Finance required

  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) or working to obtain certification preferred

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of related Accounting experience

  • 3+ years of employee management

  • Knowledge of financial statements, reports and GAAP. Exceptional computer operation skills Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and word processing software.

  • Computer operational skills in accounting systems preferred but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Tenacity in coordination of team members to meet or exceed timelines and outcomes

  • Ability to gain the cooperation of others in pursuit of company goals

  • Strong work ethic with proven track record of accuracy, dependability and consistency, with the same expectations of team members

  • An independent and confident decision maker, achieves goals by overcoming unforeseeable issues while managing multiple competing priorities

  • Demonstrated and facilitated collaboration, documentation, and presentation skills

  • Ability to form strong relationships internally and externally, building a collaborative environment for project stakeholders

Education/Qualifications:
