Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for managing the BU’s financial reporting process, providing cross functional business support including technical expertise. As the Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting, you will have the opportunity to shape and redefine the BU’s financial reporting processes through collaborative efforts internally as well as with the Parent Company’s SEC Team.

As a Finance team member, you will develop broad-based business knowledge and leadership experience while establishing a strong technical foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the BU’s monthly financial reporting process, including both internal and external requirements

  • Assist in the building and maintenance of the BU’s monthly / quarterly financial reporting packages

  • Lead monthly reviews and analytical procedures over the BU’s financial results

  • Lead quarterly and annual efforts to compile footnote support and other ad-hoc deliverables

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce effort and drive effectiveness and efficiency, including identifying, developing and implementing

  • Support dynamic business needs impacting accounting and close, working cross functionally with business partners to identify solutions for ad-hoc technical issues requiring accounting guidance as well as provide project leadership to drive business solutions

  • Provide support to internal and external audit activities including preparation and review of audit schedules

  • Assist in the following and monitoring of internal controls to ensure accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures

  • Provide technical accounting support (US GAAP accounting guidance) to the business unit partners, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, as well as implementation of accounting and policy changes

  • Other ad hoc requests, such as documentation of key transactions through technical accounting memorandums and other projects to support accounting team or business unit


  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance (or relative field)

  • CPA designation (or working towards)

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting standards, accounting policies and financial statements, and research skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail resulting in consistently reliable, accurate and thorough work

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal communication, business writing and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment

  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of Big 4 or other public accounting OR a mix of hands on public and private accounting experience

  • Direct experience with Oracle General Ledger and/or SAP

  • Blackline Account Reconciliations

  • Experience in PowerBI, Tableau and analytics
