Position Summary:

This is a hybrid position that can be based in our Hartford, CT or Downers Grove, IL office.

This position will be part of the broader NextGen Production Support team with a focus on identifying, analyzing, and resolving potential performance issues within the claims system (Health Rules Payer (HRP) ) and the enrollment systems (Market Prominence (MP) & Softheon). The person in this position will interact with business, quality assurance (QA), release delivery, infrastructure, and vendor partners to drive system stability and maintain system performance & reliability.

In this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring system performance metrics such as response time, throughput, resource utilization, and error rates.

  • Identifying performance bottlenecks and associated root causes.

  • Analyzing behavior patterns to understand performance impacts across concurrent workloads.

  • Developing performance test strategies and plans to measure against defined baselines or to define baseline performance criteria.

  • Optimizing system architecture and infrastructure to improve scalability and performance.

  • Presenting performance test results and findings to stakeholders, including development teams, project managers, and product owners.

  • Communicating performance issues and proposing solutions to address them effectively.

  • Collaboration with numerous applications teams to monitor systems, applications, and processes to meet availability goals and to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Required to provide on-call support 24x7 as needed on a rotating basis.

  • Participate in infrastructure, maintenance, and application release check-outs.

  • Maintain system support documentation.

  • Adhere to all established methodologies, standards, and guidelines.

  • Various aspects of event, incident, problem and change management.

  • Foster a positive environment and demonstrate successful relationship building with cross-functional teams and business partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with AppDynamics for transaction analysis, dashboarding, and alerting; Splunk for data analytics, dashboarding, reporting, and alerting; relational databases and data manipulation language (DML) for SQL queries and Linux shell commands.

  • 3+ years experience supporting multi-tier applications.

  • 3+ years exposure to batch processing, monitoring technologies, and trend analysis.

  • 3+ years experience with event and incident management working across multiple teams.

  • 3+ years experience working in and/or leading dynamic cross-competency teams thru issue resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with of Java/J2EE, Oracle Weblogic, Apache Karaf, and IIS.

  • Experience with tuning SQL queries for performance, especially for Oracle RDBMS

  • Experience with web service technologies such SOAP/REST and HTTP protocol.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Access.

  • Proven success with data and trend analytics.

  • Possess reasoning and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work across boundaries without alienating others, while bringing out the best in peers to be successful.

  • Understanding of delivery process via SAFE/AGILE methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; comfortable communicating with all levels of the company to include Senior Leadership and software vendor partners.

  • Competent, self-starter with ability to identify and bring forward ideas to improve the overall platform.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution, and decision-making skills.

  • A willingness to learn vendor applications and new technologies.

  • Desire to be a confident member of an evolving team that is willing to work hard to make a difference for peers, business, and other IT professionals.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field. Alternatively, 1 year of professional experience for every year degree not obtained.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
