Aerotek Assembler in Dexter, Michigan


The Assembler is responsible for assembly of finished product and subassemblies of medical devices. They will be working on the Python line.

50% of the time assembling the Oxygenator: - Set up station prior to assembly by reading assembly instruction and gather parts, tools, and materials based on the work instructions. They will read a bill of materials to determine the parts they need to pull for the assembly. - Cut fibers that are put inside the plastic Oxygenator unit - Use the sealer machine to put a clear coat over the fibers and the Oxygenator unit - Verify quality of the part by using visual quality checks and measuring and testing. Measuring using a ruler or tape measure.

50% of the time assembling - Assemble subassemblies and finished product per standard work instructions which can vary in size and length of time to assembly. - Assemble parts onto the machine - Trim access material from the product and verify quality - Use a dipping machine to coat the finished product. The dipping machine contains Tetrahydrofuran - Clean up work station before leaving

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE: - 3+ years of experience working in an Assembly position with small parts assembly - HS diploma or GED (Education verification required) - Computer skills - MUST HAVE basic experience with Microsoft excel and entering information into a computer - Experience reading a ruler and tape measure - Experience reading work instructions and understand of bill of materials - Basic math skills (there is a math skills test that each candidate will need to complete prior to submitting. Ask McTighe or Mitch for math test) ie: .41 + 21.4 + 6.3 + 280 = - Examples of strong attention to detail and good hand dexterity - Experience working with micrometers and calipers - Ability to lift 50+ lbs - Light exposure to non-hazardous chemical Tetrahydrofuran

PREFERRED: - Experience doing assembly with a medical device company - Experience working for a company that has high regulations like food, government, pharmaceutical, or medical.

DISQUALIFIERS: - Production assembly only (candidate must have experience with some prototype assembly) - Poor job tenure (more than 4 jobs within a 3 year time span) - Large part assembly only
