Essential functions (job duties):

The Program Coordinator of the Multicultural Professional Readiness Education Program (MPREP) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Associate Director in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of programming aimed at enhancing the academic and professional readiness of multicultural students. This position will coordinate with local high schools, managing the dual enrollment initiative, providing resource information to students, engaging with various stakeholders, and overseeing student assistants, event planning, and project management.

Act as a point of contact to for student inquiries, provide resources for routine matters.

Provide administrative support coordination between MPREP and the Career Planning team.

Assist the Associate Director in designing, developing, and evaluating comprehensive programs that support the academic and professional growth of multicultural students.

Collaborate on the development of workshops, seminars, and events that address the unique challenges and opportunities for multicultural students.

Act as a liaison and resource to develop and maintain relationships with local high schools and students to promote the dual enrollment initiative with the Ilitch School of Business.

Coordinate with high school counselors and administrators to identify and recruit prospective students for the program.

Provide support to graduate students on data collection projects.

Compile data related to program participation, student outcomes, and other relevant metrics.

Provide input into on continuous improvement of program offerings.

Plan, organize, and execute various events, including workshops, conferences, and networking sessions.

Manage special projects related to the MPREP program, ensuring timely completion and alignment with program objectives.

Act as a resource to build and maintain relationships with community organizations, corporate partners, and other external stakeholders to support program goals.

Engage with internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and university departments, to foster a supportive environment for multicultural students.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position reports directly to Associate Director of Student Experience & Cultural Engagement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Master’s degree preferred in Education, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of1-2 years of experience in higher education, student affairs, or a related area.

Experience working with dual enrollment programs or similar initiatives.

Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities faced by multicultural students in higher education.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred in Education, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.
