Executive General Adjuster and Assistant Vice President (midwest to western U.S.)


Zurich North America is currently searching for an experienced Commercial Property Claims Professional to join our large loss claims team.

Our Property Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers mitigate commercial property and business losses – and, our mission and purpose is to get our customers back on their feet and operational as quickly as possible.

You will independently manage a large loss caseload of claims with the highest and most complex exposures and policy limits. In this hybrid role, you will be an ambassador for Property Claims and Zurich North America, delivering the highest standards of claims service excellence and best practices, and effectively developing partnerships with key customers, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders that are critical to the success of the claim lifecycle. You will also have direct accountability for your overall results and contributions in support of Claims strategy and goals.

You must be willing and able to travel up to 50%.

You will work out of a home-based office.

We prefer that this individual be located in TX, CO, Chicagoland or other Midwestern state to focus on activity in the middle to western half of the United States.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the technical Claims area, including large complex commercial property claims


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims Technical area, including large complex commercial property claims


  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 7 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area, including large complex commercial property claims


  • Must obtain and retain required adjuster license

  • Computer/Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years of claims experience in the commercial property line of business

  • Experience with litigated property large losses and exposures

  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction and time element


  • Analytical skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment and across work groups

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor)
