Description:

We are currently seeking a Food & Safety Manager for the Aramark Sports & Entertainment operations in the Denver District, based out of Coors Field.

The Food & Safety Manager oversees sanitation, food production handling, HACCP controls, manages local health department inspections, trains employees in ServSafe and other Aramark safety programs. Training and coaching of staff is a main function within this role. The position travels to other District accounts in season to monitor food safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help Manage staff in accordance with facility and Aramark standards.

  • Work closely with the Assistant General Manager, General Manager, Resident District Manager and Clients to review, implement and enforce policies.

  • Effectively create buy-in to programs and standards from Managers and supervisory staff

  • Assure highest levels of Guest Service and Quality Control for all events.

  • Work closely with the entire management staff in regards to Safety, Sanitation, and Food Quality.

  • Maintain working relationship with local authorities (County Health, etc.).

  • Conduct work safety and food safety audits; follow-up with corrective actions resulting from audits by external health agencies.

  • Work as the leader of a team to accomplish high quality guest experience.

  • Participate in client's monthly performance meetings and Performance Management Plan meetings.

  • Ensure the location has the current Aramark food safety standards and procedure documentation in place.

  • Provide the Management team training in the Aramark food safety standards, and procedures.

  • Assist the Management team with implementation of the Aramark food safety standards and procedures.

  • Verify the implementation and execution of Aramark food safety standards and procedures and report to Resident District Manager any non-compliance.

  • Knowledgeable of local Health Dept food safety requirements, (i.e. local code requirements)

  • Accompany Health Dept Inspectors during on-site inspections and respond to regulatory non-compliance and to the best of ability - mitigate or limit any inspection violations.

  • Effectively manage corrective action processes to comply with regulatory requirements to identify cause, address problems, restore control, evaluate and monitor rocesses, modify procedures or improve the food safety system, and prevent recurrences.

  • Provide and coordinate training with assistance from location Management to ensure all managers and supervisors with food responsibilities are ServSafe Certified Managers.

  • To provide and coordinate training with assistance from location Management of hourly and temporary employees with either ServSafe Starters program or Aramark equivalent.

  • Complete the Aramark food safety self assessment on all operating days to ensure conformance with all Aramark standards. Empowered to advise on immediate corrective actions where necessary.

  • Observe and advise all Aramark employee's in food safety standards. Empowered to reinforce positive behaviours and coach were necessary.

  • Work closely and coordinate with other operations managers (catering, warehouse, concessions, maintenance and kitchen, etc) to assure food safety, and product quality.

  • Verify completion of food safety paperwork completed by operating team - temperature logs, self assessments, and review for acceptability. Empowered to advise on immediate corrective actions, and escalate to Resident District Manager when necessary.

  • Team up with Human Resources department to mitigate Worker's Compensation cases, injuries, and incidents.

  • Responsible for monitoring structural and equipment defects that may create food safety and sanitation deficiencies or non-compliance.

  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance. Empowered to escalate to General Manager when necessary.

  • Responsible for monitoring vendors (including third party food safety assessment companies) and sub contractors. Empowered to escalate to General Manager when necessary.

  • Complete a monthly (when in season) management report for each operating area. To include all aspects of food safety and quality: Personnel Standards, Product & Process Standards, Location Standards including structural and equipment defects, pest management, vendor management (Ecolab), and sub contractors non profit organization (NPO).

  • Investigate food safety complaints in conjunction with Aramark SAFE.

  • To maintain a close, collaborative working relationship with Aramark SAFE

  • Use Aramark systems such as DMM and LMS to track trainings and Safety compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

  • 2-4 plus years of food safety experience.

  • Certified ServSafe Instructor is preferred.

  • Communication skills; verbal and written.

  • Computer essentials; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Influencing/negotiation skills.

  • Training skills.

  • Auditing skills.

  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Previous management/training experience required.

  • Previous food safety or culinary experience in a high volume venue or local health department preferred.

  • Candidate must be willing to work event based hours - including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
