Responsibilities
The rotation would include the following:
Accounts Payable:
Move to an accounts payable role, where you focus on vendor payments, expense management, and invoice processing.
Learn about cash management and the importance of timely payments.
Accounts Receivable:
Transition to accounts receivable, where you manage customer invoices, collections, and revenue recognition.
Gain experience in customer relationships and revenue tracking.
Staff Accountant:
Start as a staff accountant, where you gain a fundamental understanding of accounting principles and the company's financial processes.
Responsibilities may include journal entries, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Rotate into the financial reporting department, where you work on preparing financial statements, disclosures, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Get exposure to SEC reporting requirements, if applicable.
Cost Accounting:
Explore cost accounting, where you analyze product or service costs, budget variances, and inventory management.
Understand how cost data informs decision-making and pricing strategies.
Internal Audit:
Gain experience in internal audit, where you assess internal controls, identify process inefficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Learn about risk management and compliance.
Tax:
Experience the tax department, where you work on income tax calculations, tax compliance, and tax planning.
Learn about tax regulations and their impact on financial reporting.
WIP/Project Accounting:
Tracks financial information and performance metrics for individual projects within an organization, helping to ensure accurate budgeting, cost management, and project profitability analysis.
Enables companies to assess the financial health and success of each project.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
Join the FP&A team to analyze financial data, create financial models, and provide insights for strategic planning.
Develop skills in financial modeling, variance analysis, and long-term forecasting.
Qualifications
What You Need to Bring
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (recent graduate).
Winter 2023 and Summer 2024 Graduates
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Basic understanding of financial principles and concepts.
