Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 for Ridgecrest Village, a continuing care retirement community located in Davenport, Iowa . The Food Operations Manager will oversee the dining operations serving approximately 300 residents, mainly overseeing front of house and will assist with back of house. Will train and mentor a team of 25 hourly employees. Typical shift will vary between hours of 6:00am - 7:00pm with one weekend day a week.

The successful candidate will:

  • oversee the dining operations for skilled care and assisted living residents;

  • deliver high quality dining program for residents;

  • implement Sodexo systems and programs, and oversee training of staff;

  • continuously evaluates service to ensure resident and client satisfaction;

  • integrate fully within our client's organization and be a trusted adviser with a customer service focus;

  • create a positive environment; and

  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

  • prior food service management experience ideally in a healthcare environment;

  • a dietary manager certification (CDM) is needed or must be willing to obtain within 18 months;

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.

Key Duties

  • Establishes a safe work environment

  • Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention

  • Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

  • Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

  • Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

  • Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degreeor equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
