Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Data Governance and MDM, the Master Data Management Manager will have responsibility for leading the implementation of our Master and Reference Data Management program for Shaw. They will be the subject matter expert in all things Mater Data Management. In addition, they will drive change and influence for master and reference data in support of business needs. Fostering innovation in turning a Data Platform to support the Shaw Data Strategy with a focus towards Master Data Management to Data Observability, Data KPIs & Metrics, while continually exploring and implementing strategies to deliver value to our customers.
Summary – General Purpose of the Job:
Ensures master data integrity in all MDM solutions and other key systems as identified.
Identifies areas of data improvements.
Proposes and monitors KPI’s and recommendations for improvement.
Strong Business Partner for internal IT and Internal Customers.
Accountable for setting and communicating the direction of the internal Master Data program.
Looks for opportunities on how to avoid master Data conflicts.
Light configuration and other duties as assigned and as capacity allows.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with both Functional Analysts and Business partners.
Uses technical and process knowledge to drive engagement and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate strategic decisions regarding Master Data Policies, standards and procedures.
Establish and implement master data management standards, enforce data governance procedures and ensure data integrity across various platforms.
Manage data migration requirements and processes for consolidating legacy systems.
Manage consolidation of legacy systems into a single source of truth
Provide thought leadership and direction to the leadership team and developers.
Design, document and maintain data processes and flows across Master Data Management (MDM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems/solutions.
Mentor and provide leadership for your team which may include master data analysts as well as business support data admins.
Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate the state of effectiveness of the master data program.
Advise users as to the applicability of various alternatives to meet the specific requirements and deadlines which may include MDM base functionality and Reporting, specialized configurations, extracts and business process improvements.
Designs and assists in the design and document of business processes and procedure, the development of training materials and the delivery of training etc.
Participate in various user group forums to address issue management, to field and manage enhancement request and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among users in each functional area of the business.
Additional Job Functions:
Maintains work plans, tracks effort and progress vs. plan, and provides appropriate status information regarding projects.
Coordinates activities with project team members in order to accomplish the goals of a project. Team members may be other IT staff, as well as end-user staff.
Supervises contract consultants, programmers, and part-time clerical assistance, as needed.
Provides secondary support for the technical hardware and communications platforms used to support application systems: would include log in’s, printing, security, etc. Would act as a liaison between end-users and the IT technical group.
Possesses detailed understanding of financial terms and processes, such as capital, expense, lease, requisition, purchase order, cost center, and charge backs.
Highly motivated to learn new systems, processes and business structures.

Hires, trains, develops and evaluates employees in accordance with the policies of the organization.
Assesses resource requirements in the short to medium term and prepares plans to develop and/or recruit needed talent to achieve organization objectives.
Product Strategy and Vision
Develop and communicate a compelling product strategy and vision required to meet the MDM needs of the business and deliver an optimal experience.
Create and manage a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines features, enhancements, and innovations for our MDM capabilities.
Lead end-to-end product development process from concept to launch, on-time and high-quality, including but not limited to gathering requirements, setting priorities, and coordinating with teams on delivery.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Possesses IT or business-related four-year college degree, and a minimum of ten years of experience in a medium to large scale Information Services environment.
Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience leading a medium to large team and influencing leaders and key stakeholders
Experience in Master Data Management methodologies
Preferred experience with Shaw’s Master Data Applications and Domains
