UnitedHealth Group Vendor Manager- Remote in Dallas, Texas

Your role as a Vendor Manager will help OptumServe identify the right partnerships with agencies, subcontractors, and vendors to provide the staffing and services we need to fulfill our client obligations. Vendor Management is a growing organization within OptumServe Shared Services and is positioned to support all OptumServe business units. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendor partners

  • Work closely with assigned business unit to support vendor hiring and placement

  • Collaborate with other vendor managers and with the Event Operations Center to address gaps in staffing and client risk

  • Effectively communicate with vendor partners to solve staffing issues

  • Develop pipeline talent with multiple vendor partners to prepare for hiring

  • Hold weekly calls with assigned vendor partners to identify and resolve any issues

  • Work with OptumServe Legal, Human Capital, and Compliance to develop new contracts, update contracts, and modify language to meet growing and changing business needs

  • Review vendor performance on a regular basis to identify areas of risk

  • Review performance with vendors and business units to identify path to improvement

  • Prepare presentations and worksheets to be shared with our leadership team to convey vendor performance

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities

  • Protect OptumServe from risk and liability by writing, enforcing, and adhering to compliance and legal standards

  • Conduct Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews

  • Drives change and process adoption through collaboration, relationship building and solutioning

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, communications or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of supplier, vendor, account management or sourcing and procurement or related operations experience working with third party vendors

  • Work long hours when required to get projects out the door in business pursuit

  • Ability to be on call over weekends and evenings as assigned

  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration

  • Familiarity with SCA contracts, FAR and DFAR, HIPPA, common pay practices

  • Experience managing contracting processes and procedures

  • Ability to influence others

  • Prior experience with federal programs

  • Experience managing highly complex programs

  • Experience using MedNet application

  • Experience with military health, veteran’s administration, VA CCN, TriCare

  • Broad healthcare experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word ability to open, create, edit and save presentation, spreadsheets and document)

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to present performance and risks to senior leaders

  • Innovative and collaborative when identifying new solutions (demonstrated)

  • Ability to read reports, analyze reports, and create action plans based on performance

  • Proficiency in data and analytics

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100.
