When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for a part-time Chemical Engineer to provide technical and strategic leadership on environmental remediation projects. You’ll apply your technical experience in soil and groundwater remediation systems to develop strategies and work plans while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team.
Based in the United States, you’ll direct the operation and maintenance (O&M), optimization, and regulatory compliance of groundwater extraction and treatment systems in Mexico and United States. You’ll also lead groundwater monitoring, site characterization, and remediation tasks. We’ll count on you to coordinate with subcontractors in Mexico and the United States, and internal support staff and subject matter experts as well as conduct day-to-day interaction with our clients and Mexican Regulators. You’ll also use your technical skills and experience to analyze data; prepare technical reports; and support development of complex site strategies to advance sites to closure. Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree.
At least 10 years of engineering experience for environmental remediation projects, including at least 5 years of project management with direct client communications in a consulting environment.
Experience with O&M of groundwater extraction, air stripping, and reverse osmosis treatment systems.
Experience with environmental compliance work in Mexico including Spill Prevention Plans, Discharge Permitting, coordination with municipal entities (e.g. municipal public water permits), discharge monitoring reports, etc.
Working knowledge of environmental regulations in Mexico.
Experience conducting engineering evaluations, optimizing remediation systems, and presenting O&M data and status reports to clients.
Experience managing subcontractors and leading teams.
HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain.
Fluent in Spanish and English, including technical and regulatory vocabulary critical to directing remediation tasks being performed by subcontractors in Mexico, communicate with client stakeholders in Spanish and English, and interface with internal technical leads in the United States.
Able and willing to perform occasional short-duration site visits to Mexico.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Professional license (P.E.) or ability to obtain and maintain.
Working relationships with regulators of CONAGUA and SEMARNAT.
Basic working knowledge of site characterization sampling methods. Experience preparing proposals.
