Power Electronics Lead Mechanical Engineer

Hardware

  • Mechanical Engineering background

  • Must have experience designing products or modules with digital and/or analog electronics

  • Experience with high power systems (>1kW) is preferred but not required

  • Must have the ability to convert a block diagram into a physical design that satisfies the thermal, structural, cost, durability, and manufacturability targets

  • Should have experience designing high volume products

  • Experience designing and building test setups to validate designs is preferred but not required

  • Experience working in a team environment and being self-motivated to close design issues

  • Ability to articulate design issues and path to resolution both verbally and with documentation

  • Experience working with domestic and overseas manufacturers preferred

  • Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment

Description

Concept generation of power electronics systems Detailed design of enclosures and mechanical parts, thermal systems, printed circuit board MCO’s, and EMC mitigation components Performing analysis on designs Sourcing and building low volume prototypes Creation and documentation of assembly process Supply chain development and supplier management Participation in system verification and validation

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
