Sony Pictures Entertainment Coordinator, Business Affairs - Motion Picture Group in Culver City, California
The Coordinator administers and advances our payment and contract administration protocols. The Coordinator interfaces and coordinates with creative, business affairs, legal, payroll, accounts payable, finance, IT, talent agents, outside attorneys, and business managers. The payment process involves processing and submittal, data input across multiple platforms, approval tracking, responding to payment inquiries both internally and externally, drafting correspondence, and extensive follow-up.
The coordinator constantly fields time-sensitive inquiries from various groups, both internal and external. The coordinator also fields all manner of payment inquiries. Business Affairs, creative, and many other groups rely on our department for DARTS database information, most of which is tasked to the Coordinator.
Core Responsibilities:
Process payments on Fiore & Ariba
Gather tax & employment documents for payments
Confirm above documents are correctly completed & assist talent & 3rd parties if not
Communicate with outside agents, attorneys, business managers, staff about various stages of payments
Work with business affairs execs, creative execs, attorneys, staff, payroll, accounts payable, finance & labor for Columbia, TriStar & 3K Pics on various issues
Provide information from the internal database (DARTS) to all above if requested & approved
Draft correspondence letters
Track outgoing payments & confirm receipt
Create new project numbers for MGP development projects
Set up vendors for payment in Ariba
Track internal payment approvals
Maintain & administer writer commencement & delivery forms
Job Requirements:
BA/BS degree preferred
1 - 2 years of experience in Business Affairs administration
Some finance relevant experiences
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
Customer service-oriented, as well as a highly motivated self-starter, and team player
Computer savvy with the ability to troubleshoot trying to find different alternates to a problem
Excellent project management skills
Detailed Organizational skills
Excellent Oral communication and Writing skills
Must be a self-starter with a team-player attitude
Ability To:
Communicate (both oral and written) in a clear and effective way
Work in a flexible style with the ability to prioritize, multitask and work within tight deadlines, all while ensuring that assignments are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Show initiative and problem solve
Demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor
Request assistance as necessary to meet project objectives
