Robert Half Staff Accountant in COLUMBUS, Ohio

Set in the Columbus, Ohio area, the company offering this long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity encourages innovation and rewards effort in the work place. Responsibilities held by the Staff Accountant include the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.

Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Partake in annual closing processes
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in month end closings
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience with general ledger
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Proficient in ERP systems
Great attention to detail
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
