TEKsystems System Administrator (Secret Or Top Secret Clearance) in Colorado Springs, Colorado
TEKsystems is seeking a Systems Administrator with a Secret or Top Secret Clearance for a network modernization upgrades at Headquarters NORAD and USNORTHCOM, at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.
This position shall support the assessment and planning of cybersecurity related infrastructure components. This effort will ensure that computer network defense security services are properly architected and engineered to provide required cybersecurity services. These security services shall conform to applicable DoD directives, cloud service provider (CSP) directives and policies, Joint Information Environment (JIE) guidelines, and are compatible and interoperable with the DoD implementation of the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) technical and operation implementation.
• Researching and resolving highly complex issues
• Assessing on premise and cloud solutions
• Developing and maintaining engineering design/documentation
• Support the assessment and planning of cybersecurity related infrastructure components
• Scripting / automation skills to increase system efficiency while reducing human intervention time on tasks
Qualifications and Skills:
• Active Secret clearance or higher, will upgrade to TS/SCI for eligible candidates
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues; high attention to detail; maintain current knowledge in evolving technologies
• Subject matter expertise in VDI (Forcepoint TTC, Nuntanix HCI, application virtualization, and VMWare preferred) OR
• Subject matter expertise in Microsoft SQL (performance tuning within virtual environment preferred)
• VDI Design, Implementation (Best Practices) experience
• F5 Load Balancer experience
• Server Design / Application Experience (Best Practices)
Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems on servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirement
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
Develops and promotes standard operating procedures
Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation
Other duties as assigned
A current DoD 8570 certification at Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA Security)
A current MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) or equivalent (CompTIA Server + or MCSE will qualify)
Technical Skills Required:
Strong Microsoft Infrastructure and Systems experience with an emphasis on Microsoft Internet Information Services
Experience monitoring for application/software updates which would impact warranty of service assets
Experience identifying and resolving application issues
Experience with processes and procedures responsible for allowing users to make use of IT services, systems, applications, data, or other IT assets
Implements operating system enhancements improving the reliability and performance of the system
Experience in all aspects of fulfilling a customer's approved IT request. IT requests can be either for hardware or software equipment, devices, or applications
Experience in Incident management that restores normal service operation to meet user priority levels and minimize the adverse effect on operations, thus ensuring that the best possible levels of service quality and availability are maintained.
Experience and technical expertise and overall management of the N-NC IT Enterprise
Experience with Microsoft Operational Framework (MOF 4.0)
Ability, knowledge and experience in Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Preferred experience with Nutanix storage and vitalization solutions
Preferred experience with VMware vCenter Server 6.0 and higher
