Description
With a laser focus on addressing health disparities and equity, the Health Equity and Community Engagement Regional Coordinator (Community Management Professional 2) addresses health disparities and cultivates the organization's social community through community advocacy programs and active engagement with community members.
Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving the Health Equity and Community Engagement departmental area and frequently requires interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate course of action.
Requires collaboration with other regional coordinators, and conducts briefings and regional meetings; maintains frequent contact with the Health Equity and Community Engagement Manager.

Health Equity and Regional Community Management Professional 2 Coordinator builds visibility and credibility of the organization's products and services through intentional, consistent, and frequent community engagement. Strategizes methods to scale communities and drive greater connections among community members and engages new community members. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. The Health Equity and Community Engagement Regional Coordinator will play a critical role in helping to identify and address disparities in health care access, service provision, satisfaction, and outcomes. Primary responsibilities include:
Supporting the implementation of the Health Equity Strategy for the Ohio Medicaid Market by working collaboratively with the Health Equity and Community Engagement team and Market team.
Traveling throughout the region to provide education about the organization to promote health equity and community engagement. Resides in the same territory they are assigned to work in; exceptions to this may be considered, due to business need.
Establishing relationships and actively engaging with communities and community-based entities to inform and address local health equity issues (Local, Regional).
Supporting core strategies that include authentic community engagement, working in priority communities, using data to inform practices, and seeking feedback from Enrollee, Provider, and Community Advisory Groups to inform the development and delivery of programs and services that eliminate health disparities.
Working with the Health Equity & Community Engagement Manager to promote cultural humility at all levels within the organization and among its providers.
Must reside within 50 mile radius of any of the following locations

Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree in business, communications, or related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach, or related field of equivalent work experience
Working knowledge regarding health disparities and health equity
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership, team members, and with the community
Experience working with cross-functional teams and translating requirements between business, project management and community projects or programs
Intermediate to advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Committed to improving the health of Ohioans and reducing health disparities

Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time
Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as needed to support business needs
Flexibility will be provided during weekdays off during required weekend shifts.

Remote Work at Home Requirments:
- Work At Home Requirements: You must have a room in your home in a quiet area that is designated as a Home Office. You must provide your own high speed DSL or a cable modem for a home office Satellite and/or wireless internet connections are NOT permitted. A minimum connection speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) internet speed is required.
Driver's License, Insurance, and Automobile Policy
Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the state of Ohio as required
This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Managed Care or Health Insurance
Prior experience with Medicare & Medicaid recipients.
Road Warrior who enjoys traveling long distances.
Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources.

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
