Ohio Means Jobs-Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Driver(s) for the local Cleveland/Cuyahoga county area senior population. Summary: Responsible for driving senior citizen passengers. Escorts clients door-to-door to ensure safety and a helping hand. Drivers deliver a personal touch to all riders, and are a reassurance to those needing help. Responsibilities Operates passenger vehicles to drive assigned transportation routes throughout the county, assisting client passengers as appropriate in a courteous and professional manner. Often loads and off-loads walking aids, e.g., canes, walkers, etc. and packages. Ensures routes are consistently completed safely and on time. Remains in constant communication with Dispatch Office. Promptly reports and records deviations when necessary. Requests backup assistance when appropriate. Performs accurate, efficient and thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift. Completes requisite documentation. Ensures assigned vehicles are properly and consistently cleaned inside and outside, and fueled on an ongoing basis. Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage promptly, using appropriate documentation and reporting rules. Maintains all required licenses, certifications and other training requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent highly desirable. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Due to the relationships with partners the following criteria needs to be met. Must possess work history with track record of successful customer service. Minimum three (3) years driving experience required. Experience as a professional driver highly desirable. Must hold a valid driver's license with no more than two (2) points on record. Annual verifications are performed. Must pass criminal background check prior to hire. Must pass drug and alcohol tests prior to hire, and random tests thereafter. Must pass physical exam as required by the Ohio Department of Transportation prior to hire. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting while driving. Bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, walking and reaching. Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Exposed to all types of outside weather conditions. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. to assist with helping passengers, walking aids, and other items on and off vehicles. Salary: $15 per hour Hours: Full time or part time.* NO WEEKENDS.* Driver commits to 8 hrs. per day and these may vary slightly due to the needs of the clients. Hours can range from 6am-5pm with 8 hours in one work day.  Benefits: If driver commits to 30+ hrs. per week driver is eligible for benefits which include: Dental, Health Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick Leave and Retirement.
