Honeywell Hardware Engineer I in Clearwater, Florida

Use your knowledge of reliability engineering fundamentals to help Honeywell Aerospace deliver innovative solutions that provide safe and effective mission assurance for our customers. You will work under immediate supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reliability predictions of electrical and electronic systems used in safety-critical applications

  • Plan reliability activities e.g. Reliability Program Planning, HALT, HASS, and ESS Plans

  • Collaborate with various engineering functional teams

  • Predict component, subsystem, and system reliability through analysis and test

  • Perform specification review

  • Develop requirements and criteria for parts selection

  • Perform stress predictions and apply derating guidelines

  • Conduct failure modes, effects and criticality analysis

  • Exchange task level information (system requirements, technical drawings, specifications, etc) with team members

  • Communicate any non-compliance incidents to pertinent parties

  • Prepare or update reports and documentation

  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment

  • Support test activities to determine product reliability


  • Bachelor’s Engineering

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to contractual obligations


  • Electrical / Software backgrounds

  • Clear and concise communication skills

  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts

  • Willingness to consistently take the initiative to get things done and do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
