Job Description Summary
Determine and manage the company's worldwide transfer pricing (TP) and international reporting obligations with the highest integrity while complying with worldwide tax laws. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.
Indicative time split:
25% of the time reviewing p rojects and deal set ups , almost part of the ITO/OTR teams. Act as a “commercial transfer pricing” leader to ensure that policies are being implemented properly on a deal by deal basis. Further, working with Tacton would be part of that.
Work with IT to create a more dependable and accurate reporting tool .
Market Maker reporting to streamline TP discussions.
TP documentation (in-house creation and management), which would reduce external support needs in this respect.
Manage international reporting obligations such as but not limited to DAC6, CBCR, ATAD-II, BEAT,...
More globally, process improvements and enhanced TP communication/guidance .
A typical day will comprise:
Business/Transactional Support Activities – Manage and participate in reviews of ongoing business activities and proposed transactions to properly advise the commercial team of TP consequences and opportunities, with emphasis on tax efficiency and compliance with legal requirements.
Planning and Contractual Activities – Partner with business and the US Tax group to pro-actively identify and research tax planning opportunities. Implement structural and non-structural tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis. Interact with business, tax, and other individuals to ensure proper implementation of all tax planning projects.
TP Reporting – Manage and coordinate TP reporting in PC regions. Support the Company’s accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) process, including deferred tax computations and Uncertain tax positions (FIN 48) and cash tax forecasts.
Legislative Activities – Analyze, monitor and pursue legislative, regulatory, and judicial tax developments relating to transfer pricing relevant to Company’s business operations.
Tax Audits and Controversies – Lead and partner with Company personnel to successfully defend filing positions and to negotiate favorable resolutions of proposed deficiencies.
Compliance Support – Coordinate TP accurate reporting on regional tax returns and in obtaining necessary information and documentation for use with TP documentation, tax planning, and cash tax forecasts and work with businesses to improve TP data collection processes.
Undertake special projects , including transfer pricing and international projects, restructurings involving the region and provide support in M&A transactions
Support Global Tax Director, Global Tax Controller and US Tax Team on international projects and reorganizations, and transfer pricing matters.
Build-up a broad and dynamic network with other TP teams within GE, tax, legal and finance teams to foster best practice sharing.
Act as a business partner providing the technical advice and the practical recommendations that is easy to understand.
Ensure tax modelling of business and corporate transactions with business and social acumen with a strong cash focus.
