ACS Network Architect in Chantilly, Virginia
Location: Chantilly, VA
Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active Top Secret clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Must be able to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

We are looking for a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Network Architect to join our team in providing unparalleled support to our customer. The selected individual will work with stakeholders to review and implement upgrades to various network components. Design, implement and maintain security standards/policies/procedures. Develop architectural roadmaps and on-going design changes to support an innovative environment and enhance the value of network services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead initiatives for designing and deploying Data Center Networks utilizing industry best practices and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Nexus 7k platforms.
Design / Architect and implement solutions involving Cisco R/S, ASR, DWDM, ACI, SDN and the Nexus switches in an Enterprise throughout CONUS and OCONUS within Agile Scrum teams
Design, Support and Troubleshooting of existing and growing Network / Data Center environments.
Create Low Level Design, High Level Design, Implementation Plan, and Acceptance Test Plan documents in accordance with customer standards
Implement and maintain the route/switch environment for multiple data centers and all remote sites for multiple networks
Design, implement solutions for and mentor junior engineers with tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and SolarWinds to monitor, to maintain, and to quickly pinpoint and resolve outages
Design and implement Network Automation based solutions
Design solutions to effectively monitor network performance
Strategic research and evaluation of new solutions and relevant technologies.
Staying up to date on current and relevant certifications
Strong Expertise with NSX / VMware will be highly desired / relevant
Design and implement solutions using government specified encryption.
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification required (CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND or SSCP)
DoD 8570 computing environment certification – Cisco CCIE
Requires a strong background in networking, switching, routing, data center design, and network security
Requires experience with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure
Requires expertise with Cisco ASA firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Cisco Secure Access Server/Identity Services Engine, and management tools and techniques, including Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Security Manager and SolarWinds suite of products
Experience with automation (REST API, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
12+ years in Cisco WAN/LAN routing and switching. Experience engineering and troubleshooting large, complex Cisco network solutions
ust be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve
delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment
Expertise with VMware NSX
Experience with SolarWinds Voice/Video QoS products
Knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls
Strong experience with Virtualization and UCS / Compute Engineering
Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Math) or equivalent,

12 years w/ Bachelor's Degree
16 years w/ HS diploma
