The ideal candidate will primarily be accountable for perform a variety of electrical engineering tasks and will develop and coordinate designs to resolve both real and modeled conflicts.
Create electrical drawings to meet design and client needs.
Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts.
Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
Will work with other Designers and Engineers on primary and secondary (Low voltage) normal power distribution systems, emergency power distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and associated power distribution systems with emphasis on facility redundancy and reliability.
Perform all appropriate calculations (e.g. distribution panel loading, short circuit, voltage drop, conduit & conductor size, and cable tray fill) required for the electrical design packages.
Checks design calculations and drawings verifying all applicable codes have been incorporated.
Coordinate needs and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs.
Ensure quality control by complying with team design and CAD standards.
Attend construction meetings and field observations of site and clean room environments to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.
Travel potential but not required.
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience or knowledge with EasyPower is a plus
Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with quick turn-around times
Able to conduct field verification for routing plans including climbing ladders, suiting up in a cleanroom suit, and some verification under 2ft raised floor while wearing a cleanroom suit
Valid driver’s license is required.
