Interacts with internal and external customers to provide shipment detail. Various filing and spreadsheet duties and solves routine shipping problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Possesses an expert understanding of the shipping processes and can assist with the various alignments within the enterprise. Understands lean initiatives and can participate in lean events.
Performs carrier routing based on contracted and best freight rates. Tracks freight spend and provides quotes for RCI Contracts department. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes.
Processes various government documents to include DD 250, DD 1149, DD 1348, and various government bills of lading. Perform No License Required (NLR) international shipments.
Plans and coordinates shipment activities. Perform various Shipping transactions to provide customer output and shipment detail. Output includes customer bar code label, pack slips, and address labels and automated or manual carrier bills. Documents processes and makes recommendations for improvements.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday 10 am to 6:30pm.
High School Diploma or AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Takes personal initiative to proactively serve as team motivator creating strong morale and synergy.
Provides customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
Ensures that all details of a project are accurate before delegating to others.
Actively pursues various sources to obtain a balanced description of customer problems and complaints.

Possesses a sufficient amount of relevant sales experience.
Maintains a calm and positive outlook during stressful situations.
Works from a daily to-do list but will re-organize if priorities suddenly shift.
