As a key member of the Global Pipeline team within the world-wide medical organization function, the Senior Manager/Associate Medical Director, reporting to the Head of Emerging Pipeline position, will be responsible for new or emerging pipeline programs; supporting the development of early medical strategy to ensure communication and medical priorities are developed as well as key affiliate feedback is provided to registrational study design. Support will begin with new or programs with 4+ years of development that have proof of concept and have moved toward registrational study design and development. The pipeline associate medical director or Sr. Mgr will typically support activities for multiple programs, with a focus on agility as programs approach go/no go decisions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
In collaboration with Head of Emerging Pipeline – support the development of global medical strategic imperatives and a communication framework in collaboration with pipeline scientific partnership
Lead critical projects to support pipeline development, serving as needed as the key Global Medical contact for important cross-functional partners (PDC, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Regional Medical, Pipeline SEE)
Support Director in cross functional efforts to ensure key communication priorities and data gaps are capture from global and affiliate
Provide medical expertise to and lead cross-functional teams and projects. Represent Global Medical at other cross-functional meetings as needed
Support Head of Emerging Pipeline in planning and development for international KME engagement and other Medical initiatives for internal and external development (global scientific platform, medical training, medical communication)
Collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to understand key insights that may be relevant to clinical trial and data generation efforts
Experience with neurology, business development, medical functions
Ability to effectively operate in a highly matrixed organization
Strong interpersonal, influencing and project management skills
Excellent communication (particularly both written and oral), leadership, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed
Relevant experience in Medical Affairs or research and development (and/or other pharma industry experience)
These experiences are typically achieved over 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and / or a combination of clinical/research experience
Must have the ability to travel
