Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities
Supports payroll, maintains employee data, submits payroll tax and updates work cover. Handles payroll questions and completes other variable tasks necessary for monitoring the payroll process. Maintains vacation, sick leave and worker's compensation records. Compiles payroll journal reports and posts entries to journals and ledgers. AP and AR functions and maintains monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Payroll
•Ensures compliance to internal controls and adheres to company polices relating to processing of wages and paid time off
•Responsible for the collection of timesheet and other data for both permanent and casual staff, and works with external payroll company to ensure the input of this data is accurate
•Administers salary records
•Study and interpret legislation, awards and agreements to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
•Reviews checks for accuracy and post journals into B1
•Provides support to employees for any concerns regarding payroll and taxes, and troubleshoots all inquiries
Accounts Payable
•Processing weekly supplier invoices
•Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
•Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
•Maintaining historical records
•Paying staff fortnightly by verifying expense reports and preparing Concur reimbursement
•Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
•Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports, maintains Balance Sheet reconciliations
Accounts Receivable/Bank Reconciliation
•Sending statements and collections
•Daily bank reconciliations
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Capabilities
Working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll-related journal entries
Able to efficiently manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deadlines
Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel
Strong working knowledge of Fairwork Australia & employment compliance guidelines
Education and Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Great Plains, SAP or similar ERP experience preferred
