Description
The role of Wellness Customer Service involves providing a great customer service to both internal and
external customers while maintaining a safe and hazard free work environment. Our goal is Zero Employee Accidents. Daily duties will include providing prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers seeking information on supplements, personal care items and books, as well as helping to keep the department fully and attractively stocked.
Customer Service, Product Knowledge and Department Organization
Share knowledge with customers while avoiding prescribing and diagnosing
Become familiar with co-op's reference materials and refer customers to appropriate publications
Assist customers placing special orders and notify customers when special orders have arrived
Stock displays full without overcrowding and rotate overstock into backstock
Dust shelves and face products while stocking
Rotate older stock to front to make space for new stock
Remove damaged items and notify Wellness Manager
Label items accurately with price tags or signs
Keep backstock areas in order and notify Wellness Manager of out-of-stocks
Check in items using the invoice to verify piece count or damage and notify receiving of discrepancies
Pull special orders and stock remaining items on shelf
Read trade journals and educational materials to stay current on developments in nutrition and natural medicine
Business Operations, Safety and Compliance
Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies
Keep registers - shelves, counters, aisles, backstock -- in clean, orderly condition
Remove trash promptly, clean up spills, sweep floor as needed
Keep department equipment in working order and advise Wellness Manager of equipment problems
Attend Wellness staff meetings and other assigned training requirements
Identifies self as employee by being in VNF attire and nametag
Perform any other duty as assigned by Management Team
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
Familiarity with vitamins, supplements, natural beauty aids and homeopathy
Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
Detail oriented and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
English proficiency with previous customer service experience
Familiarity with computers
Regular, predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous inventory experience
Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 10 pounds frequently, 20+ pounds occasionally
Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
Close-to-general range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment and focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, bend, and be exposed to a refrigerated environment occasionally required
