Keurig Dr Pepper Senior Machinist in Burlington, Massachusetts
Job Overview
As a Machinist, you will be responsible for the operation and setup of manual and NC machines in a small machine shop. You will also work with the assembly team and engineering group to assemble Prototype machinery and Test equipment for the Brewer Development Department. Activities include machining parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, water jet, or grinders, maintaining and setup machine shop equipment and tools, improving and developing operational and safety guidelines, and assembling of machine components as needed.
What you will do:
Provide operational technical leadership for all machining operations, using drawings, machining instructions, and quality instructions
Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations
Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs
Assemble close tolerance, Prototype Brewer concepts
Use of basic mechanical hand tools including impact wrench, magnetic drill, torque wrench, etc.
Coordinate with management and engineers to ensure projects are built on time and according to design specifications
Proactively identify problematic manufacturing issues such as equipment concerns, processes inefficiencies, and part quality changes
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed
Ensure that all operations are compliant with appropriate quality assurance
Provide quality control component inspections when necessary
Maintain safe clean work areas and comply with all safety requirements
Support machine retrofits and tooling upgrades
Follow all Keurig policies and procedures
Requirements
5+ years’ experience working as a machinist and programming NC lathes and mills
10 + years experience working as machinist
Bachelors Degree or equivilant experience
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
Must have experience with performing quality checks with micrometers, calipers, and various gauges
Good English written and oral communication skills
Excellent organization skills; able to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
Positive attitude with ability to work a fast paced, high-growth environment
Computer skills using Microsoft office
Preferred to have:
Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
Ability to identify operational issues and offer solutions
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend and stoop
Ability to twist, kneel and reach overhead
Up to 5% travel required
