American Express Global Business Travel Meeting&Event Planner in Budapest, Hungary

Position Summary

Provides conference, events and meetings services: suggests, plans and creates itineraries using creativity and cost saving options to meet customers’ requirements as well as maximizes revenues.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Handling meetings ranging from 10 people to several thousands

  • Managing multiple meetings simultaneously

  • Managing Food & Beverage functions – understanding guarantees and limitations

  • Planning the logistics of the meeting – from meeting room set up to coordinating breakouts

  • Managing rooming lists and arrival/departure lists

  • Understanding Attrition Guidelines and Cancellation Penalties – as they pertain to a hotel contract

  • Managing Congress registrations

  • Handling all types of programs – with varying degrees of importance

  • Having a good handle of estimates profit for each meeting – consistently updating the numbers

  • Compile & reconsile the final bill

  • Creating customer invoices

  • Being able to close out the account to the amount of profit that was originally estimated

  • Coordinating with the Service Delivery team to produce a seemless operation between Air and Land

  • Meeting all deliverables external as well as internal

  • Adhering to all internal policies as well as compliance issues

  • Being able to pick up and work with all interactive tools , used by Corporate Meeting Solutions

Unique Knowledge & Skills

  • In depth knowledge of travel products and services

  • Advanced PC skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing

  • Good verbal and written business English language knowledge

  • Selling and negotiation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail

  • Understanding of the financial dynamics of the incentive travel business

  • Good knowledge of Card and Business Travel products in order to cross-sell and maximize revenues

  • Self motivation, ability to work alone to a very high standard

  • Good orientation in multinational key accounts and their requirements

  • Good command of issues related to project management and professional experience in purchasing services connected to events’ organization and various event types at all stages
