Mississippi Employer 911 Director in Brookhaven, Mississippi

The 911 Director is the primary individual responsible for all matters 911 Telecommunications for Copiah County. The positions is responsible for coordination with other 911 centers for emergency contingency backup, coordination with software, radio, telephone and computer operations system providers. Represent the communications center at community, county, state and other meetings as needed.

Must currently reside in Copiah County

· Must have a valid Mississippi Driver's License

· Must be physically fit and capable of spending extended periods of time under stressful situations and extreme environmental conditions. Applicant must successfully complete a physical examination prior to employment with no major limiting deficiencies

· Must be able to travel and work long and non-standard hours

· Must successfully complete pre-employment drug, alcohol and security testing

· Must possess basic computer skills

· Must have completed NIMS ICS-100, -200, -300, -400, 700 -800 and have a demonstrated working knowledge and experience in operating in a unified command environment

· Must be available for formal training, conferences, seminars and exercises

· Must have the basic knowledge and the ability to identify and utilize expanding technologies to improve the county's emergency preparedness program

· Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks under deadlines

· Must have the proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage and supervise personnel

· Must have a basic understanding and experience in budget preparation, grant administration, and other financial management activities

· Must have knowledge and experience in communications systems and interoperability

· Having managed the response to and recovery from a federal disaster declaration at the city and/or county level would be a plus.
