Defense Security Service SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in Boyers, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: Act as the senior DCSA Customer Engagements representative for customers using the systems that facilitate the investigative process. Lead a team of customer service professionals responsible for being the initial point of contact for customers using DCSA systems. Review draft policy and provide input on impacts to service quality, investigative timeliness and customer usability. Facilitate and/or make presentations regarding DCSA Personnel Security in meetings with other offices, agencies, industry partners, or groups. Monitor workloads and projects, coordinate team assignments to balance workload and ensures team completes work assignments and special projects in a timely manner. Represent DCSA customer needs and challenges within DCSA to ensure the customer perspective is represented in program operations. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG 13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Policy, procedure, and systems utilized by customers using DCSA products. National Background Investigations Services (NBIS) system and Defense Information System for Security (DISS). Developing and reviewing processes and/or procedural approaches initiating required coordination within DCSA and with other organizations, and develop reports of findings and recommendations for adjustments for Personnel security. Collaborating with customer agencies and industry partners on assessing complex operational situations, identifying problems, and recommending alternative solutions based on applicable personnel security guidance. Supervisory, managerial and leadership techniques to provide effective direction and leadership to subordinates. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Security Program Management Manage security equities (e.g., strategic, personnel, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, and other resources) for a program or other area of responsibility. 5. Communications Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
