The Part-Time Office Assistant at the Western Kentucky University Fort Knox campus plays an important role in our students' educational experiences since they are the first point of contact for our veterans, active duty, and family members. This will be a regular part-time position working 20 to 25 hours per week and reports to the Military Programs Academic Advisor and Coordinator. This position works closely with the Military Programs Academic Advisor and Coordinator to provide guidance, support, and encouragement for students at the Fort Knox Regional Campus. This position will play a vital role as part of the Regional Campus team in supporting students with military backgrounds and as such will be on-going.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical/administrative support to designated faculty and staff

  • Provide support to potential students when they visit the WKU Fort Knox office

  • Be responsible for first line of communication in-person and by phone

  • Schedule student appointments

  • Attend community and WKU recruiting events if needed

  • Proctor student exams

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Working knowledge of basic office software (word processing, e-mail systems, spreadsheets, databases, etc.)

  • High levels of confidentiality and dependability, skills that are crucial for this position

    Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus at least one year clerical experience

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must meet requirements to gain access to Fort Knox

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $10.51 - $12/hr
